A Dashing Steve Carell in Get Smart

If I hadn’t known any better, I would probably think Steve Carell is the next James Bond.

Doesn’t he look absolutely dashing? Even when he’s holding a shoe to his ear and walking without one on his feet? I understand taht they are trying to make this scene funny, but they also made him look like really cool and debonaire….like James Bond, really.

Get Smart opens in theaters in June of 2008, but you can already find trailers online. The movie is a remake of the 1960’s spy spoof and Steve Carell plays Maxwell Smart a very useless and incapable agent (a role he has already mastered!). Playing opposite Carell is Anna Hathaway, who is back to playing light and comedic roles (a role she does better!), as Agent 99.

And speaking of a really dashing Steve Carell, I was watching episodes from The Office Season 1 last night and it would have been my nth time viewing it; so I thought I know everything by heart by now. But I was surprised I did not remember how Steve or Michael Scott looked in the earlier seasons. He was wearing a greasy hair product! Eww!

I guess the look worked for Michael Scott because he does comes off sleazy here. This was in the episode, Diversity Day, by the way. But for Steve Carell…well, props to his stylist or image consultant. Because getting rid of the hair product in succeeding episodes of the show looked much, much better on him.
