A peek at Unhitched starring Rashida Jones
I was able to take a peek at Rashida Jones’ new comedy series on Fox. And I’m not quite sure if that’s the one and only time I’m going to take a look at Unhitched. You see, as much as I like the girl, I did not warm up to this. It isn’t that this show is bad; it is tolerable and to be fair, I’ve only seen one episode. But maybe I still see her as Karen so it’s difficult for me to disassociate. In fact, one of the first few lines Rashida’s character said in the show was something like, “Listen…I’m on my way to the office…” and I was more excited to hear her say that than I was about having to watch this new series. And then she went to say she’s going on a date with a guy named Tim, who she met at the gym (which awfully sounds like…), so guess where my mind wandered?
Unhitched is the first TV series produced by the Farrelly brothers (There’s Something About Mary) and it is about four friends (one gal and three guys) who have recently become divorced and are back on the dating scene. It was originally entitled, Rules for Starting Over, and was supposed to be the show that would keep Karen Filippelli away from Jim Halpert, much to the delight of PB & J shippers (because Rashida would have to be busy doing this sitcom, duh!). But it doesn’t look like this one’s a keeper for Fox.
The show airs Sunday nights.
