The Office Round Up June 16

Monday, June 16th, 2008

We’re having site issues lately so if you’ve been trying to visit this site (Thank you very much!) and end up waiting forever for the pages to load, I do apologize. Some server problem is causing this site to slowdown and hopefully, it will be fixed.

Anyway, in and around the world of The Office —-

Brian (Kevin) and Kate (Meredith) appeared on Last Comic Standing last Thursday. I saw the program as I am a fan of it. I just failed to record a video of Brian and Kate’s segment. As judges they were serious people! Brian even almost ended up arguing with someone…who was crazy, so Brian was in the right there. Clips should be available on NBC.com soon.

Steve Carell.jpgSteve Carell is Forbes Magazine’s 87th most powerful celebrity today. Wow. And he remains quite the humble guy even with all that power. The actor will be appearing on Talk shows all of this week, as Get Smart’s theater run is coming up. He will be on:

  • June 16 - Larry King
  • June 17 - Letterman
  • June 18 - Regis & Kelly
  • June 18 - Daily Show
  • June 19 - Kimmel

He will also be at the Soho Apple Center in NY on the 18th.

The cast praise Angela Kinsey’s mothering skills, in this article from People Magazine.

Jenna Fischer appeared on Ferguson the other week. And she has been updating her blog this summer.

There’s a chance of yet another strike looming…What happens to The Office if the actors do go on strike? THR says the show still has no finish product, should the strike take place. But let’s hope a deal is worked out before the deadline ends this month. Or else, The Office Season 5 will be delayed…and we don’t want that.

The Office Round Up June 2nd

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

steve carell get smart.jpgSteve Carell interview on Good Housekeeping as posted in Celebrity Baby Blog.

  • What are your plans for Father’s Day?
We have the same ritual for Father’s Day and Mother’s Day: Whoever’s day it is gets to sleep in — that means until about 7:15 — and then breakfast in bed is delivered by the young people. Breakfast is a bagel, and some bacon, and then the newspaper. After that, Father’s Day is officially over — I don’t get any special dispensation for the rest of the day

Calender in his latest movie Get Smart, with Anne Hathaway, opening June 20th.

Jenna Fischer will be on David Letterman this week….either on tonight or on Friday. She has also updated her blog with answers from questions she has fielded from fans the previous week. Jenna’s Blog 1 | Jenna’s Blog 2

  • How much time do you have off before you start filming the office again?
8 weeks. And I plan on relaxing for every minute of it. We start shooting again at the end of July.

Listen to BJ Novak’s radio interview at Seattle’s KISS 106.1. The actor/writer/comedian is also scheduled to appear in at Caroline’s in New York for three nights this week.

Watch Kate Flannery over here, doing Lampshades with Creed on June 7th.

  • The Lampshades is written and performed by Kate Flannery (THE OFFICE) and Scot Robinson (ANCHORMAN).

Did you happen to catch Oscar Nunez and Angela Kinseyon Last Comic Standing last Thursday? They were judging the talent show and were really nice to the comedians. The rest of The Office cast members are appearing in succeeding episodes:

A song for Angela: Angela’s Baby

Monday, May 12th, 2008

This is probably the cutest and sweetest I’ve seen between real life friends from television:

bratton4.jpgThat’s Creed and Ed Helms singing to a very pregnant Angela (who gave birth last week) during a set visit, (which I think took place in the fairway, during the episode Job Fair). Aren’t these two sweet? And Angela is oh, so lucky to be surrounded by friends who truly love her and her growing family. This makes me wanna chime in and sing with them as well. It’s a delight to watch the camaraderie between these people. And suddenly, I sense a sad moment come over me — I just realized how much crushed these actors will be once the show ends (which hopefully shouldn’t happen in the next ten years!).By the way, I think I may have not mentioned this before, but have you bought and heard Creed’s album?

Office Party for Angela

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

10p.jpgThe Office’s Angela Kinsey, had a baby shower over the weekend, courtesy of her cast mates. It was attended by about two dozen women, including Angela’s many sisters and cousin who flew to LA from Texas. The baby shower was held at Jenna Fisher’s LA pad.

Kate Flannery, in People Magazine said:

“Angela has a lot of sisters and a lot of relatives from Texas who came out,” costar Kate Flannery told PEOPLE that night, at the Humane Society’s 22nd Genesis Awards. “[There were] a lot of Southern ladies who were sitting around drinking iced tea. No men – it was only the ladies. We’ve been desperately trying to hide her pregnancy on the show. You can’t tell. She’s behind a copier machine, behind a pile of papers. It’s kind of funny.”

Angela is due to give birth in May.

The Office Round Up March 26th

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I haven’t done this in a long time. Here it goes though:

* Melora Hardin will be on VH1’s comedy Free Radio on Friday, March 28th

* Mindy Kaling and Craig Robinson visit the University of Notre Dame this Saturday, March 29th

* B.J. Novak is at Cornell University’s Bailey Hall also on Saturday, March 29th

45080092674_10.jpg* Catch John Krasinski on Jay Leno, where he is tonight’s guest. He will also be a week back early on NBC Thursdays, as the rest of his Office cast mates since John will be hosting the recap show. Says Kristin of E! “…you’ll get your John Krasinski fix April 3 when he hosts NBC’s Thursday night comedy lineup. They’re going to replay the last four episodes of The Office, and J.K. will be previewing scenes from his upcoming movie, Leatherheads, with Mr. George Clooney. Very fancy, our little Halpert has gotten, no?!” Incidentally, Leatherheads will have a premiere March 31st in Hollywood Blvd. But the movie opens nationwide (or worldwide?) April 4th. Oh, and here he is…John Krasinski Naked.

* Angela is featured at Graco, the baby blog (a portion of the interview below…)
What is the most exciting thing for you about becoming a new mom?
I have always wanted to be a Mom and honestly the most exciting thing to me about all of this is meeting my little girl. I cannot wait for that moment when I first see her and hear her voice. I’m sure I’ll be crying my eyes out. Tears of joy.

As a mom, what is the one thing you’re most curious to find out about? What she looks like! We have brunettes, blondes and redheads and tall, short and everything in between in our families and I can’t wait to see which characteristics she gets.

* And finally, Rashida Jones was on Craig Ferguson the other night.

Steve Carell will be on Oprah today. His movie Get Smart is almost coming to theaters.

Also, Angela will be with Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show tonight. Incidentally, Angela also has a couple of blog updates. You might wanna swing by and catch up on her exciting domestic activities. And also check her NBC page for video updates. I hear there will be new video uploads soon.

The Office: Improv at Armando Show; More Angela news

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

77192_1_.jpgEd Helms, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey and Oscar Nunez were interviewed by Jeff Berman (of UnitedHollywood) recently, in connection with their participation at Armando’s Improv Show at the IO West Theater last February 4th. The show’s proceeds went to the Below the Line Fund, which will benefit members of the WGA.

Below is the video:

Speaking of Angela, she will be on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show tonight (Don’t you forget it!). And has appeared on VH1’s Free Radio, too:

video.vh1.com

Angela’s all over the place even with her tummy growing bigger and bigger. Of the cast members, I dare say, she’s the one most visible one, bustling with all kinds of activities lately. She was even on Last Comic Standing with Oscar. Pregnancy must have boosted her energy levels. I’m so happy to see she’s carrying this baby just fine.

The Office: Jenna and Angela Videos From Inside The Car (Fashion Week)

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Angela’s web page over at NBC has new videos up. This were the ones taken on the day they were headed to New York for Fashion Week, where Jenna modeled a fabulous red dress.

jenna.jpg

The first  of the videos basically talks about how excited they are for Jenna’s Fashion Week appearance. (Angela: You’re like Carrie Bradshaw!) Funniest quip — Jenna: Stop filming us while were texting!

Angela also talks about her pregnancy in another video, how she told Jenna about it and how her best friend reacted to the good news.

Jenna: People are gonna think I scream all the time.
Angela: No, no…just for big things.

(That’s what she said. Haha! Sorry, I couldn’t resist)

I so enjoy the friendship shared by these ladies. They make me wanna go and give my best friends a call overseas.

The Office Round Up Jan 21

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Hmmm….can you sense what’s in the air? Fresh new episodes in the coming weeks? With the strike hopefully nearing its end, are we to expect five to six new episodes by March? As we wait for further developments, why don’t we go and check in on what the actors have been up to the past week, eh?

  • Rashida’s newly made-over, blue-themed pad in New York is featured in Details Magazine (out in February). I like how the house is styled but I’m not too keen on the baby blue walls. It reminds me so much of the Virgin Mary (but that’s just me!).
  • Check out Angela’s baby bump. She’s grown big! I mean, for a small-framed woman like her, that bump is already quite big. But she looks lovely pregnant, no? It suits her. The article reports she’s due May 9th and will be giving birth to a girl.
  • I’m quite excited about this, since I enjoy watching Last Comic Standing… Oscar and Angela will sit as judges in its Season 6 offering. Auditions will begin in LA’s Improv on Jan. 28th.

Have a great week ahead everyone! Let’s hope for some very good news at the strike front!

The Office: At Home With Angela

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

AngelaKins_Kambo_8640925_400.jpgMother-to-be Angela Kinsey granted an interview with People Magazine, after the announcement of her pregnancy. She’s been craving Snicker chocolate bars, thinking of baby names, and doing pre-natal yoga with her husband and best friend, co-star Jenna Fischer. This seems to be an easy pregnancy for her, as she speaks of having no morning sickness at all and sounds really happy or looking forward to parenthood.

Angela is married to TV Writer, Warren Leiberstein. And if that name sounds familiar, Warren is the brother of Paul, who plays Toby in The Office. So yes, Angela and Toby are family, being in-laws in real life.

Speaking of family…I just recently came across these series of videos with Angela guesting on the home makeover show, Take Home Handyman. This was from five or six months ago. And who else dropped by to help in the renovation of her house but her other family, the cast of The Office: Melora (Jan - who helped her choose the closet doors), Mindy (Kelly - who did some tiling); while the rest — Kate (Meredith), Oscar, Paul (Toby) — also extended a helping hand or a morale boost.

The house the Kinseys own is located in Los Angeles and is a bungalow-type built in the 1950’s. And transforming the house into their own home through the help of a TV show, seems tailor-made for Angela. She is a self-confessed make-over show viewer and would often find time to do her own special projects at home  or when they are not filming the show.  It’s safe to assume she could already be thinking about putting up the nursery already.

About Watching The Office

Watching The Office follows the lives of office workers in the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, as they face day to day business operations under the guidance or actually, misguidance, of their often inappropriate boss, Michael Scott. One of NBC's best comedy shows, The Office is the incarnation of a revolutionary BBC TV comedy bearing the same title. Hailed for its sharp humor and unique concept, The Office has received multiple recognitions from several award giving bodies since its USA premiere in 2005. Watching The Office will cover everything we get our hands on regarding the show, And from time to time, we will also bring the spotlight on its British version. So, pick a desk and settle down. Let's get working…
