Spoiler: Karen is back at The Office

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

This is something I just have to add real quick, since I just read this on TV Guide….

Question: I’m in need of some scoop on The Office. — Sarah

Ausiello: Jim and Pam are finally happy, so you know what that means: It’s time for Karen to put in an appearance! Rashida Jones is due back on the set next week to shoot scenes at Karen’s new place of employ. Office producers are currently casting the role of her assistant, a twentysomething metrosexual who is friendly and has a good energy. Meanwhile, I hear new bossman Ryan is also in the market for an assistant — and she’s smokin’. According to the casting notice, she’s in her early twenties, businesslike, attractive and smart. In other words, Kelly’s worst nightmare come true!

Season 4 Episode 3 & 4 Synopsis

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

The episode synopsis for The Office’s third and fourth episode for season 4 have now been released:

nullLaunch Party
Date Airing: October 11th

The Dunder Mifflin Infinity website is launching and Michael is excited about going to the big launch party in New York while Angela plans a satellite party for the Scranton branch. Meanwhile, Dwight competes against the website to see who can sell the most paper in one day.

The Dunder Mifflin Infinity website was discussed previously here.

Angela and her parties! *rolls eyes* (and yes, I would have to someone not invited at Angela’s parties since I’m probably not her kind of people, haha!).

And of course, Dwight’s competitive side is always something hilarious to see. I can’t wait!

Money
Date Airing: Oct. 18th 2007

EASY COME, EASY GO–As Jan (Melora Hardin) renovates the condo, Michael(Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) confronts his growing debt every way he can, which includes pressuring his employees for a loan. Pam(Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) spend a night out on Dwight’s(Rainn Wilson) family farm, now a bed and breakfast.

Okay, wait a minute…Dwight runs a bed and breakfast? So, I guess that’s where the Hell Convention takes place?

And the idea of Jan taking charge of Michael’s personal space? It does seem like where this couple’s story is going, based on how Season 3 ended. I remember Michael going iffy when Dwight spent a couple of days in his condo. But then again, in fairness to Michael, I would also grow uncomfortable if my roommate happens to be someone like Dwight!

And ahhhh —- Jim and Pam’s night out! Whooooot!

Season 4 Episode Guides:

1) Fun Run - Sept 27
2) Dunder Mifflin Infinity 10/4
3) Launch Party 10/11

Photos from The Office Season 4 Episode 2

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

My, my, my… Ryan looks very “George Clooney”, don’t you think?

There are a few more of these photos at Give Me My Remote.

NBC has officially released information for the second episode of The Office Season 4. This will also be an hour-long show just like the first episode.

Dunder Mifflin Infinity
Air Date:
October 4th
Episode Description: Much to the dismay of Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) and many of the employees, Ryan (B.J. Novak) returns to the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin to bring the company into the digital age. Angela (Angela Kinsey) is still upset about her cat.

Incidentally, if you’ve missed the episodes (and where will you be Thursday nights but watching The Office?), OfficeTally has reported that they will be available online immediately after the West coast airing.

What is the Dunder Mifflin Infinity?

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

For awhile now, we’ve learned that Ryan The Temp (who is now, of course, Ryan The Boss), has big plans for Dunder-Mifflin and hopes to bring it to the “digital age”. Which probably explains what this is all about.

The webby’s looking pretty good, huh?

I have no doubt this has something to do with Ryan’s story line. In fact, we’ll probably learn more of this as The Office Season 4’s episode 2 unfolds. The episode description from NBC Universal Media Village:

THE OFFICE
DUNDLER-MIFFLIN INFINITY

THERE’S A NEW BOSS IN TOWN - Much to the dismay of Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) and many of the employees, Ryan (B.J. Novak) returns to the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin to bring the company into the digital age. Angela (Angela Kinsey) is still upset about her cat. Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Melora Hardin, Ed Helms, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson and Creed Bratton also star.

The second episode for The Office airs on October 4th, and once again this is another hour-long treat.

Update: The Office Tally reports on Sept 13 that the website is in fact a game site where fans can actually play among each other.

The Office: Summer Vacation

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

This promo from NBC is actually so good, I. Cannot. Stop. Laughing!!!

  • Big transformations for Pam and Ryan.
  • Funny quip from Creed, as usual. And Stanley….he’s….still the same! LOL!
  • Love Michael’s inputs on Ytu Mama Tambien and Ratatouille.

Almost everyone is in this clip and they’re all so good at what they do — that is, making people laugh!

I so enjoyed that one. Whew!

The Office Fun Run Episode Photo Promos

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Just Jared has posted tons of photos from The Office Fun Run Episode. Along with it are some spoilers… so if you don’t like to read those kinds of stuff, steer clear. I have, however, taken just one photo from the batch. It is something that I particularly like, because it just says so much:

The Dwangelas are fighting!

There are also other promo photos at this site.

Incidentally, it’s 36 days before the season premiere, yay!

Spoiler Alert: Fun Run Details

Sunday, August 12th, 2007

What I’m about to show next is a very detailed account of what happens in The Office Season 4’s very first episode: Fun Run. I tried very hard not to read everything because I still want to be surprised when I watch the show. But you curious George/s out there can read all you want — A very detailed SPOILER POST from TWoP.

Photos from The Office Fun Run

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

It’s 48 days to go before the season premiere of The Office and look what I stumbled upon — a spoiler goody! A couple of “Fun Run” episode pictures have been anonymously shared at The Office Tally and thankfully, they were gracious enough to put it up on their website.

I had to upsize one of the photos to better read what’s written on the t-shirts. It says: Michael Scott’s Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race for the Cure. So it is in fact an event dedicated to Meredith, yeah? Has she actually died (please, no…I’d like to see more of her character!) or is this just one of Michael’s silly attempts at word play?

By the way Di, you guessed the spoiler previously posted correctly!

The Fun Run Episode 1 Season 4 Spoiler

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

I previously posted that Episode 1 of Season for will have something to do with a “Fun Run”. Well, thankfully E! Online has provided fans substantial details on what this episode is:

This is an unconfirmed rumor, but it sounds funny enough to be true. Dunder-Mifflin may be sponsoring a [Name of Office Worker Deleted for Your Peace of Mind] Memorial Celebrity Pro-Am Rabies Awareness Fun Run. Memorial?! Yes. Rabies? Also yes—perhaps from the bat who busted into the office last season?

Care to speculate which office worker? I am now imagining all sorts of hilarious scenes we are to expect from this one-hour episode.

Let the countdown begin: 50 days till Season 4 Premiere!

Back to Work!

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Dan Beals, one of The Office PA’s, has an updated blog entry posted last Saturday and its about their first day back to work, which took place over the weekend. He mentions one crucial thing and that is — we should expect a lot of on location scenes for Season 4:

Spent most of the daydoing mundane things like prepping walkies for distribution to the crew and organizing supplies for when my dept. goes out on location. Which, sadly, will be a lot. Hell, our first scene on our first day is on location. I remember when this was a little show set in a paper office. (pause while I daydream fondly with a smile).

More time outside the actual office? Uh-oh. Hopefully this doesn’t spell bad for the show.

Incidentally, the first episode is entitled “Fun Run”. This bit of info was spilled by Rainn Wilson in a recent chat/interview. Speculations abound that this may be related to a charity event Michael’s staff are forced to join. (Alright, just imagining that is already making me laugh!) So maybe, that should give all of us clues as to why Day 1 is going to be shot on location. Greg Daniels supposedly wrote the episode.

So tell me, Officionados, are you excited about these location shoots or would you much rather prefer them indoors with all the papers and the paper cuts?

Dan Beals’ blog entry.

The Office Scoop from E!Online

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

There’s an interesting interview posted at E!Online with Kent Zbornak, The Office’s co-executive producer.

  • Season 4 opens two months after Season 3 left off.
  • 13 scripts are done, with the first four episodes all good for an hour’s worth of TV watching each:
  • We spent five or six weeks in March, April and early May breaking stories for the beginning of the season, and then we sent every writer off with stories. All of the writers came back July 9, after the holiday, and we had 13 scripts in our hands. I mean four of those are one-hour scripts, but they equate to 13 scripts.

  • There is a hint of new pairings. But whether or not Jim and Pam will be dating, Zbornak answered the question with a question.
  • On to Jim and Pam. In the season finale, they moved forward in their relationship. Anything you can tell us about that? Will they be dating?
    Will they be dating? Hmmm…

Are we going to see a date possibly?
I will say that they’ve taken that step up. Our first episode takes place two months after that particular moment, and they take a step up.

    Are they exclusive?
It’s going to be revealed in the first episode. You’ll have a very clear definition of who they are and where they’re going.

Those aren’t really spoilers, are they?

And who do you think should hook up? I say Andy needs a woman to mellow him down, yah?

Who is gonna be back in The Office?

    Sunday, July 8th, 2007

Finally, a fresh Season 4 news, which we haven’t been getting for quite sometime.

Below is The Boston Herald’s article on Mindy Kaling. Mindy talks about the Ryan-Kelly split aftermath and hinted there will be a character coming back.

Mindy Kaling, lovable, overly enthusiastic Kelly on NBC’s “The Office (Thursday at 9 p.m. on WHDH, Ch. 7), revealed what viewers can expect when the series returns for a fourth season in the fall.

As viewers recall, in the final moment of the May season finale, Ryan (Newton native B.J. Novak) unceremoniously dumped Kelly after getting a big promotion.

“I think that Ryan is in for it, Kaling said recently. “I don’t think Kelly would even know where the phrase ‘hell hath no fury’ is from or even know what that means, but we’re going to see that literally enacted upon Ryan, which I think is going to be funny to see. My character is kind of such a sweet ditz, so to see her be scorned and turned into Medea will be really fun and a challenge as an actor.

    [snipped]

“We get to see a character who we think is no longer going to be on the show any more, she said cryptically. “Someone who we think is long gone. They make an appearance so I was excited about the script.

Read more of it via The Boston Herald.

So who do you think it is? First and obvious thought would have to be Roy. But it would be interesting to have Katy appearance, you may recall her as Jim’s ex-girlfriend from Season 1.

Or maybe it doesn’t even involve somebody’s ex.

    Your guesses?

Previews of Office Finale “The Job”

    Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

2007_05_14_TheOffice_Upfronts_06.jpgNot only do we have some interesting previews of “The Job,” but we have some cool videos on Jenna and John at the NBC’s Upfronts where NBC announced plans for the fall, and a video of Rainn as he appeared on The Today Show yesterday. All of these clips are a bit spoilery, but I’m thinking that all that talk from John and Jenna about the ninja and robot might just be crazy talk.
Thanks to OfficeTally.com for providing the links and to IESB.net for providing most of the videos.

Preview #1 of the Office Finale “The Job.

    Preview #2

    2007_05_14_TheOffice_Upfronts_19.jpgPreview #3

Jenna and John at the Upfronts clip

    Rainn on Today

I have no idea how Jim will react to Pam’s speech of last week, but I’m going to try my hand at some speculations.
Since we’ve been told time and time again that something big is going to happen with Jan and Michael, I’m thinking that either Jan will pretend she is pregnant in order to get Michael to stay with her (she has proven crazier in the past) or she really might be pregnant. Or it could be that offering to interview Michael was just an excuse to get Michael within her reach.
Let’s look at the possible ways in which Jim could respond to Pam’s campfire plea for friendship.
I’m thinking that one option would be for him to somewhat awkwardly to apologize for neglecting her and their past and offering a lame handshake as a symbol of their enduring friendness.2007_05_14_TheOffice_Upfronts_12.jpg
Another option would be for Jim to tell Pam that he appreciated her honesty, but that he is with Karen now and that being friends may not be an option if he goes to New York.
Another option, of course, is that at the end of the finale, we have the two get together and Karen is tossed aside.
Truthfully, I don’t think that Pam and Jim will get together. It would kill the show and I think Pam has developed to a point that getting Jim or any other man right now is not what she’s about.
Anyway, the finale should prove to be exciting, awkward, hilarious and so much more. Expect a full recap of the finale to appear Friday morning.

Possible Office Spoilers from Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski Takes the Stage and More!

    Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

fischergunn.jpgJenna Fischer and her husband James Gunn (Slither) appeared recently at this year’s Saturn Awards. While on the red carpet IESB.net interviewed the couple and we get a few tiny hints at what the season finale of The Office might hold for us. Watch the video by clicking here.

In other news, John Krasinski was spotted, on stage, at Death Cab’s Ben Gibbard’s concert. MeeVee reports…
    john_20krasinski_20mirror_20full.jpg

[At] the concert of Death Cab’s front man Ben Gibbard at the 9:30 Club in D.C. when none other than Jim Halpert himself, yes John Krasinski took to the stage. Ben and John were joking around and having fun. John, armed with a guitar, professed his loved for the band Wilco and sang a little tune. John has been a long time fan of Death Cab and even co-hosted their Directions DVD launch party last year.

Gibbard is also reportly taking his shot at acting in “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men” which was directed and written by Krasinski.

    rainn_wilson04.jpgAnd lastly,
We all know that Rainn Wilson has numerous projects going on this summer as he takes a break from The Office, but what to do first. Cinematical.com reports of all the happenings with Wilson and what he has decided to take on first in his long list of movie deals.

Wilson has decided which one of his many upcoming projects will shoot first; with production beginning this June, he’ll star in The Rocker — a comedy for Fox Atomic that stars Wilson as a modern day Pete Best. Essentially, like Best, he’ll play a drummer who gets the boot from a band right before they hit it big time. Thus, he’s forced to pick up the broken pieces of his career and seek out a second chance at super-stardom.

Wilson will be working on this film along side other projects including, “The Girlfriend Experience,” “Kanan Rhodes: Unkillable Servant of Justice,” and “Bonzai Shadowlands.”

Karen is Staying!! Big News for The Office Season Finale

    Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

    WARNING: This post contains spoilers.

97baeb85.jpgRashida Jones, who plays Karen on The Office, will be here for Season 4. I originally thought that if Rashida would be back for season 4 then that would mean that her pilot “The Rules for Starting Over” did not get picked up by FOX. But as someone over at Netscape.com has just posted, that pilot did get picked up by FOX. I’m not sure what this means for Karen on The Office or how much we’ll see of her, but I’m glad that she’s staying. I used to not like the character of Karen simply because it messed with Pam and Jim, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Pam and Jim never getting together. I think they are great friends, but may have grown apart romantically.
Here’s what OfficeTally.com found out about the whole season finale situation…

The scoop: There’s an opening at Dunder Mifflin corporate, and Michael (Steve Carell), Jim (John Krasinski) and girlfriend Karen (Rashida Jones) all want it. “Somebody does take the job, cocreator Greg Daniels tells Us (best bet: Jim). “We’ll see more of the New York offices next year.

    image_4821129.jpg
Office crush: Fans rooting for Jim and Pam (Jenna Fischer) to revisit romance may be disappointed: Jones is back for Season 4, and, says Daniels, “Pam is on a journey of self-discovery. Her happiness may be more about her self-realization.

So it looks like the world of The Office will be expanding quite a bit. If Jim does get the corporate job, it makes one wonder about how that will work with him and Karen. I guess New York isn’t too far from Scranton. The comment that Pam is on a journey of self-discovery was an interesting one. Perhaps getting another boyfriend is not in the cards for The Office receptionist. I would like it if, through this self-realization, Pam stops glancing longily at Jim and starts being or at least acting more like a independent woman whose happiness does not rely on a guy. That’s my opinion anyway.

Season 4 might just prove to be a very interesting and a very different season. I do find it interesting that with this kind of comedy where absurdity is rampant, that they would choose to include such meaningful storylines such as Pam journey of self-discovery. But I suppose the big-wigs at NBC and the writers for The Office are smart enough to know that comedy alone will not carry a show.

Tell me what you guys think about Karen staying. Are you for it or against it? Vote on the poll below and I’ll post results tomorrow.
