Dinner Party’s Mysterious Guest Revealed
The second photos of the upcoming April 10th episode, “Dinner Party”, came out a lot of Office fans have been wondering just who this woman to the left is. OfficeTally even ran a poll about it:
I’ve always believed it was Jan because she had another photo along this one, with her hair tied up that way. But I soon realized, the facial features are slightly different. And it was that of an older woman. Who is she then?

Well, sources say that the woman is Michael’s mother. Another theory going around is that she is someone Dwight has brought to the party as his date. Whoever she is playing, I think the bigger question is…who is the actress playing her?
The lady is Beth Grant.
I remember her most for her role on Keanu Reeve’s movie, Speed. Yes, I know it’s a really old reference, but that’s where I best remember her from. She’s the woman who tried to get off the bus and eventually got blown up in front of Keanu Reeve’s character.
But her more recent projects include being part of the cast of Jericho. And in a reference so much closer to home, she was the pageant official in Steve Carell’s Little Miss Sunshine.
If this is indeed Michael’s mom…from what I remember, Michael comes from a broken family and was distraught about his mother moving in with a guy named Jeff. I guess we should be expecting a more than usual tensed Michael in this episode, someone who has to host a dinner party and at the same time have his mother around.
