Guest Stars for The Office

by

This is a new feature I would like to start. I know that we all dearly love The Office, but that’s only on Thursday. What about the rest of the week? Personally, I always catch 24 on Mondays and sometimes a bit of American Idol throughout the week. My point is that we all watch a plethora of good shows. Have you ever wondered how some of your other beloved characters from other beloved shows would do on something like The Office? I have. So I decided that every Tuesday I would do one post on a character from some other show that I think would be a good fit as a guest star on The Office. Who knows? Maybe the writers will take notice and take our advice. For this week, I chose Chloe O’Brian from 24.

ChloeObrian.jpg24 has it’s own office atmosphere and Chloe, except for a few occassions, is in the office dealing with her co-workers. To me, Chloe has just the dysfunctional personality to compete with the likes of Andy and Dwight. Her “Get away from me” attitude and sideways looks at people just seem to fit in at a place like Dundler Mifflin. Just picture it. Andy sees the new girl, Chloe, attempts to get in with her, since no other female in the office is working out for him. He approaches her and plants a fairly cheesy line and she replies with, “Could you please leave me alone,” while she intensely works with her computer. Andy persists, as only Andy would saying, “Why?” Chloe would deftly respond with, “Because you’re a loser who needs singing lessons, I have a lot of work to do revamping Andy.jpgthese vectors, and I have a tazer in my left pocket.” Andy slinks away.
It’s perfect I tell ya. She would definitely be great competition for Angela as well. Angela usually rules the roost when it comes to her blunt insults and icy demeanor. Not so say that Chloe is icy, because we’ve seen how much she can care for Jack and Morris. But as far as people she thinks are annoying, she can be quite icy and her insults and blunt comments far surpass those of Angela. It would make for great comedy to see those two face off.
So, this week, I say the Chloe O’Brian would be a great addition to The Office for an episode or two.
If you’d like, send me your choices via my email, annadurfee@yahoo.com, and I’ll post them for subsequent Tuesdays.
