Rainn Wilson to Host Saturday Night Live!

According to givememyremote.com, Rainn Wilson will be hosting SNL on Feburary 24th. No musical guest has been announced yet for that episode. However, speculations have already commenced as to what Wilson’s reign will be like on S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night. After reading some blogs, I decided that instead of paraphrasing what everyone is saying, I’ll just give you direct quotes.

Do you think they will have a skit that pokes fun of The Office? I remember when Jennifer Aniston was on once, they made fun of Friends and when James van der Beek was on they made fun of Dawsons Creek. That would be funny if they had a skit poking fun at JAM and Dwangela.

…the image of Rainn playing his recorder as the musical guest on SNL just made me laugh out loud for a solid 30 seconds. That would be pure gold. Regardless of who the REAL musical guest is, I am SO excited that Rainn will be hosting SNL…this is awesome news. Now all we need is Steve, John, Jenna, and BJ to host sometime in the near future. Wishful thinking? I hope not.

Yes, I am excited as well. Recently SNL has kind of well….to put politely….sort of….in a way…..well…sucked. Even when they get great comedic hosts, there is still a slight chance that the skits will bite the dust and the host, even with all their comedic powers, will be unable to salvage the train wreck. But Mister Rainn Wilson is different. The Office is different. The stuff Wilson does on that show slay me everytime and so I have faith that if I actually brave television on a Saturday night, I might be well pleased.
