Tuesday’s Office Guest Star

by Anna

I don’t get to watch this show as often as I’d like, but my choice for this week’s Office guest star would be Jack Donaghy from NBC’s 30 rok_1001_010.jpgRock. If you’ve seen the show, you might guess as to why I picked him. Jack is the boss on 30 Rock and as such he is free to be a little eccentric and can comment on people, politics, gender issues, race, management and other such topics with as much tact as Michael Scott can muster up at any one time.
If he were ever to guest star, I see Jack Donaghy as someone from corporate who comes down to visit Dundler Mifflin to ruffle Michael’s feathers. At first the two would get along, but as Jack does on 30 Rock, he slyly insults the people around him. He passes off his sly insults or blunt comments as his word on the subject, not to be taken offensively. For example, view this little montage of Jack:

c364hk[1]_1.jpgHis quirky personality goes along with the misfits of The Office. Jack to me seems to have adult ADHD. He’ll pay attention to a subject or conversation, until something interesting is seen in his peripheral and off he goes. I can just see him trying to get acquainted with The Office staff and having a really hard time focusing. I think Jack would like Jim the best because he is so easy going that he might be able to handle the sporadic order Jacks deals out.

So Jack Donaghy is my pick for this week. I really do think that having the characters of different shows guest star instead of the actors is what would really be funny. Notice, I don’t nominate actors, I nominate the characters they play. Anyway, tell me what you think.

  1. Tony Says:

Jack would definitely get along with Dwight best. They share a desire for power and success unlike anyone else in the office.

It would, of course, eventually become a rivalry.

Donaghey is definitely my favorite new TV character!

Dwight I think would end up being too weird for Jack. Jack is also weird, but in a different way.
